The collection consists of subject files on various union organizing drives in which he participated as a national field representative of the AFL-CIO. Stamey worked in comprehensive AFL-CIO campaigns in Atlanta and Tampa, with the Laborer's International Union in Columbia, S.C., with the Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union in Little Rock, and the Professional Employees Union in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
